Then I went in search of evidence.  I found this &#8220;video&#8221;:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WeWq6rWzChw&#038;mode=related&#038;search=\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WeWq6rWzChw&#038;mode=related&#038;search=<\/a> and I realized that when they say exploding, they actually do mean *exploding.*<br \/>\n<object width=\"425\" height=\"350\" align=\"middle\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/WeWq6rWzChw\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/WeWq6rWzChw\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" wmode=\"transparent\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\"><\/embed><\/object><br \/>\nAccording to an article on the subject at &#8220;Howstuffworks.com&#8221;:<a href=\"http:\/\/computer.howstuffworks.com\/dell-battery-fire.htm\">http:\/\/computer.howstuffworks.com\/dell-battery-fire.htm<\/a> , these explosions\/meltings\/fires are caused by small amounts of metal floating in the lithium fluid piercing the separation walls between the cells, causing a short circuit.
