No map (or collection of maps) has ever been as useful or as flexible as Google Maps, and last week it got even more so.  As someone who hasn't owned a car in many years, Google Maps has sometimes been frustrating because the directions engine is built for driving cars around, and so will ignore one-way streets if they go in the wrong direction, bike paths, pedestrian shortcuts, etc.  That's all a thing of the past.
